Possessing over 25 years of experience as a financial and legal advisor, Rebecca Gaskin Gain serves as a principal of Nexant, Inc., based in Washington, D.C. As a lead transaction advisor for U.S. government initiatives to bolster the developing energy markets of Africa, she is responsible for originating and driving priority projects within the initiative. This position entails working with private investors involved in the energy sector as well as port authorities and electrical utilities to overcome developmental and financial obstacles that power-producing corporations face. Before joining Nexant, Rebecca Gaskin Gain worked as a corporate advisor for 10 years. She performed due diligence and assisted with business development for investors in emerging markets throughout Africa and Southern Europe. Her responsibilities as a corporate advisor included analyzing financial, political, and regulatory issues within international markets.
After earning a BA in history from Wake Forest University with cum laude honors, Ms. Gaskin Gain studied law at Emory University, where she graduated in 1989 with her juris doctor. While working on her law degree, she was selected for internships in Tokyo, Japan, and Singapore. She also completed a third-year curriculum at Columbia University’s law school.
